Barony (formerly Shire) of Selviergard(Matanuska-Susitna Valley, AK). (Alternate spellings: Silveirgard, Selveirgaard) The name was originally derived from a Scandinavian word meaning 'freehold' and not actually derived from 'silver guard' as originally thought (src: Master Ulrik Von Matanuska--Founder of Selveirgaard). The boundaries of Selviergard are within the valley: bound on the South by the Eagle River and on the north by Hurricane Gulch in the Alaska Range.
Selviergard and the Canton Inbhir na Da Abhann merged and formed a barony on May 24, A.S. XXXVIII (2003) by the hands of Their Majesties Alden and Constantina.
