Barony of Eskalya
(Anchorage, AK). The name 'Eskalya' comes from an anagram/phonetic spelling of the old Tlingit/Aleut name for Alaska (Alyeska), meaning 'The Great Land'. It covers most of Alaska South of the Alaska Range, between the Eagle River and North of the Kenai Peninsula, and is centered in the Municipality of the Greater Anchorage area.Eskalya had recently annexed the vast lands East of what was formerly known as the Oerthan Border, into the northern 'neglected' regions of the Kingdom of An Tir. Eskalya had delivered a declaration of war against the An Tirian King 6 months before War maneuvers went under way. It had fought to incorporate what is mundanely known as: the Yukon Territory, the Western part of the Northwest Territories, the Northern part of British Columbia, and the Northwestern part of Alberta, in Canada, and had succeeded. Fearing the Eskalyan Might, and the Mighty Warriors of Oertha, An Tir lead a suprise attack back into those regions to re-claimed those lands. Having only 5 days notice to muster troops to the offensive, the trecherous An Tirians met with success against Eskalya.
