The
name "Eskalya" comes from an anagram / phoenetic spelling of the
old Tlingit / Aleut name for Alaska (Alyeska) which means "The
Great Land." The Barony of Eskalya covers most of the
Alaska south of the Alaska Range and between the Eagle River and
north of the Kenai Penninsula. Eskalya is centered in the
Anchorage area.
